New Senior Living Residence Announced for Bloomer

BLOOMER - Local skilled nursing and rehabilitation provider Dove Healthcare - Bloomer announced the time has come to implement expansion plans that were stated as preliminary in 2017. A 24-apartment assisted living residence will sit adjacent to the existing 50-bed nursing home in summer 2022.

Regional Director of Operations Jeremy Kiley commented, "It was always our intention to expand our services in Chippewa County when the time was right. Strong census, a changing market, and the continued trend with area residents seeking assisted living care outside their home community officially solidified our groundbreaking plans for this fall."

Partners and community representatives in attendance at the October 18 outdoor groundbreaking ceremony included Jay Rideout, President/Partner of Hoeft Builders; Karen Smith, Vice President of Security Bank; Gaius G. Nelson of Nelson-Tremain Partnership | Architecture & Design; Rod Turner and Justin Kunsman with the Bloomer Chamber of Commerce; and David Olson, family member of a former resident.

Tenants of the assisted living residence will enjoy the comforts of their modern, one-bedroom apartment, along with numerous services and amenities.

  • all-inclusive, monthly care rate
  • three nutritious meals every day
  • caregivers on-site 24 hours a day
  • nursing and pharmacy services
  • access to physical, occupational, and speech therapy
  • a variety of social activities and community outings
  • full service salon and complimentary WiFi
  • a recreation center, first and second floor laundry, lounges, and outdoor patio with walking path

Administrator Joe Muench added, "Since opening our doors on Duncan Road almost five years ago, we have provided short-term rehabilitation, respite and long-term care, and end-of-life care to over 400 people. We are excited to add assisted living to our continuum of care. This has proven to be a successful model at Dove Healthcare properties in Eau Claire and Osseo, and we are confident we will have this same experience here in Bloomer."
