2023 Scholarship Winners Announced

Dove Healthcare announced Kallie Patrie and Nicole Prince as the recipients of the sixth annual Sandy Rasmussen Scholarship.

The two $2,500 scholarships honor Sandy Rasmussen, an employee of Dove Healthcare - Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls for over 50 years. Rasmussen has served the residents in numerous capacities, often concurrently, including lawn care, transportation, recreation, resident assistant, nutritional services aide, cook, and nutritional services director. She has also volunteered countless hours fundraising for the Alzheimer's Association and American Cancer Society.

Scholarship Committee Chair and Director of Assisted Living - Chippewa Valley Emily Gudis shared, "We are honored to help both Kallie and Nicole advance their education and careers. They demonstrate great compassion and commitment for those entrusted in their care and dedication to their profession." The scholarship committee selected Patrie and Prince based on letters of reference, essays, work ethic, and character.

A certified nursing assistant and medication aide for almost three years at Dove Healthcare - South Eau Claire, Patrie is enrolled in the nursing program at Rasmussen University. She volunteers at Dove Healthcare - South Eau Claire and for the Seymour Ball Club.

Dove Healthcare - South Eau Claire Assistant Administrator David Jacobson said, "As one of the first to offer assistance in almost any scenario, Kallie is highly respected by her peers. She is capable of 'doing it all' and is always willing to step into other departments when they need support. Most recently, she stepped up to help the housekeeping department. Kallie is driven, smart, and intentional. As an employee, she has been exceptional and above and beyond reliable. As a caregiver, she is the type of individual I want caring for my parents when they need it someday."

A team member for over seven years and presently the administrative assistant at Dove Healthcare - Bloomer, Prince is completing the health information management and technology program at CVTC. She volunteers weekly for the Meals on Wheels program at the Bloomer Senior Center.

Dove Healthcare - Bloomer Administrator Joe Muench shared, "Nicole began as a health unit coordinator. After excelling in that role, she has taken on many other duties and positions. She is one of those rare employees that can do the work of several people and is always looking for more to do. When extra help is needed, Nicole is there. Her 'above and beyond' support includes taking residents to the lake for a pontoon ride or out for a golf cart ride; setting up and serving at our summer concerts; and coming in on a weekend to ensure the residents get the care and attention they deserve. Furthermore, Nicole has assisted other Dove Healthcare locations on numerous occasions, including training employees. She is a special person and we are truly blessed to have her here."

The Sandy Rasmussen Scholarship is available to Dove Healthcare employees pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited technical college or four-year university.
