Dove Healthcare

Mission, Vision, and History

Benefit from a strong history in growth and innovation.

Dove Healthcare is a local healthcare company based in the Chippewa Valley. Since we purchased the Center of Care in 1997 from Eau Claire County and began operating as Dove Healthcare, we have strategically grown within a 60-mile radius of Eau Claire.

Today, Dove Healthcare is comprised of six skilled nursing facilities (Dove Healthcare – Bloomer, Osseo, Rice Lake, South Eau Claire, West Eau Claire, and Wissota Health & Regional Vent Center); five assisted living residences (Dove Healthcare - Barron, Orchard Hills Assisted Living, Osseo, Rutledge Home, and South Eau Claire); and one physical, occupational, and speech therapy company (Transitions Rehabilitation). Our talented and diverse workforce of approximately 1000 employees serves an average of 425 residents and patients every day.

Dove Healthcare - West Eau Claire, our first acquisition in 1997, is licensed for 110 beds and is located on Truax Boulevard in Eau Claire. This facility specializes in skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and end-of-life care. 'Reflections at Dove Healthcare - West Eau Claire' is a distinct palliative care unit.

Dove Healthcare - Orchard Hills Assisted Living opened inside Dove Healthcare - West Eau Claire in 1999 and then a new 26-unit facility was built attached to it in 2005. A second expansion in 2008 brought total capacity of the assisted living residence to 39 studio apartments.

Dove Healthcare - Rutledge Home was added as a third affiliate in 2004. Originally a 92-bed skilled nursing facility in Chippewa Falls, in 2007 operations were merged with Dove Healthcare - Wissota Health & Regional Vent Center. Today, Dove Healthcare - Rutledge Home is a 43-unit assisted living residence with its primary focus on memory care.

Dove Healthcare - Wissota Health & Regional Vent Center, a 77-bed skilled nursing facility with 36 certified ventilator beds, was purchased as a fourth affiliate in late 2005. In addition to featuring the Regional Vent Center, this facility specializes in skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and end-of-life care. Located on County Hwy I in Chippewa Falls, there is an accessible indoor passage to HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital and Marshfield Clinic.

Dove Healthcare - South Eau Claire opened in September 2009 on Mall Drive in Eau Claire. The 34-bed skilled nursing facility specializes in skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation. An attached 16-unit assisted living residence opened September 2017.

Dove Healthcare - Rice Lake opened May 2016 on Bear Paw Avenue. The 50-bed skilled nursing facility specializes in skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and end-of-life care.

In October 2015, Dove Healthcare became the licensed operator of three nursing homes in Barron, Bloomer, and Osseo, as well two assisted living residences in Barron and Osseo.

Dove Healthcare - Barron moved its skilled nursing facility operation to Dove Healthcare - Rice Lake in May 2016. The assisted living residence Dove Healthcare - Barron (formerly Maplecroft Assisted Living) features 36 apartments and continues to operate at its current location on Memorial Drive.

Dove Healthcare - Osseo moved from Eighth Street in Osseo to a new 40-bed skilled nursing facility with attached 24-unit assisted living residence on Ridge View Road in December 2016. The skilled nursing facility specializes in skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and end-of-life care.

Dove Healthcare - Bloomer moved from Thompson Street in Bloomer to a new 40-bed skilled nursing facility on Duncan Road in January 2017. An expansion project in October 2018 added 10 private rooms and additional dining room space. The 50-bed facility specializes in skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and end-of-life care.

Transitions Rehabilitation consists of almost 90 licensed therapists that provide services to all Dove Healthcare locations, as well as contracted services to other area assisted living residences. Our team consists of physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists / speech therapists, physical therapist assistants, certified occupational therapy assistants, and respiratory therapists. We have invested heavily in our employees, therapy gyms, and equipment to ensure our patients receive the most advanced and progressive treatment.

Through the years since Dove Healthcare's origination, it is clear our steady growth is a result of our consistent approach — defining what we do well, doing more of it as often as we can, and growing as our resources allow. We recognize that increasing value and continuously improving quality are essential to maintaining excellence in our facilities.

Our intention is to be the healthcare provider and employer of choice in Northwestern Wisconsin.
